Brandon Bass is playing well off of the bench for the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Steppin Up,Uncategorized by alleyoop on Saturday 5 January 2008 at 5:03 pm

When the Mavericks signed Brandon Bass they weren’t expecting much and he has made them happy with how well he is playing. Bass has played in 31 games this season for the Mavericks and he is averaging 19.9 minutes, 7.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He also is shooting really well as he is hitting 46.4% from the floor. Look for Bass to continue getting his share of minutes as long as he keeps producing.

Rookie Nick Fazekas is planted on the bench for the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Rookie Reports,Uncategorized by alleyoop on Thursday 27 December 2007 at 1:16 pm

The Mavericks generally don’t use rookies much and that hasn’t changed this season. He has only played in 2 games this season for the Mavericks and he is averaging 2.5 minutes, 1.0 point and 1.0 rebound. He has only hit 1 of 2 shots from the floor this season. The Mavs likely picked Fazekas with an eye on the future.

The Mavs were great in the First and Fourth Quarters and that is

why we are smiling tonight. MAV’s FANS, you guys were great too.

You came out en-mass and cheered your team to the last second.

Remember I quoted Isaiah 41:10; the Lord has given us 67 wins

during regular season and I believe He will see the Mavs through.

He says let nothing terrify you even the croud in Oakland come

Thursday. Dirk you did your thing tonight. Diop, your were

phenominal. Our running machine D Harris and …… were

just wonderful. Stay focus, do what you have done all season and come

and close the series at home.

I do not care what people are saying. I like your leadership.

Please keep up. God knows where you are. Sometimes you feel

God has forgotten you. He hasn’t. “Do not fear, for I am with you”

Isaiah 41:10. I am praying for you guys. Rally the Guys, pass this

message to them and pray before game 5. To the rest of the FANS

Please this is the time to encourage rather than criticize.

“You are the weakest link, goodbye!”

If it were any other team I would probably think that the Mavericks still had a good chance to pull this out, but Don Nelson just owns them. The Warriors might get bounced in 5 games in the second round, but they are just dominating the defending Western Conference champions at this point. I’m glad to see it happen too; my Heat won’t be around to do it to them again this year.

Maybe Mark Cuban is feeling bad that he took a dump on old Don now. At least Mark will be able to focus on his other business ventures in a few more days. Dallas Mavericks, you are the weakest link, GOODBYE!

The Dallas Mavericks are getting close to wrapping up the #1 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs

Blogged under Big Mavericks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,Uncategorized by alleyoop on Friday 6 April 2007 at 1:20 pm

The Mavericks are sitting at 62-12 on the season and have opened up a 6.5 game lead on the Phoenix Suns with only 8 games left to play. The Mavericks would be smart to rest their regulars as soon as they wrap up the #1 seed because they don’t need any of their starters getting hurt like Gilbert Arenas did this week. The Mavericks are in great position to return to the NBA Finals as long as no one gets hurt, but it won’t be easy. The Suns, Spurs and the winner of the first round series between the Jazz and Rockets will all be a serious threat to the Mavericks in the West. That’s why they need to rest their starters the last few games of the regular season.

Mavericks have a bad night and lose 96-85 to the Bulls in Chicago

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps,Uncategorized by Nothing but Net on Friday 26 January 2007 at 10:16 am

The Mavericks only shot 31.2% from the floor as a team and were outrebounded 59-45 and that’s why they lost last night. Dirk Nowitzki had a bad shooting night (7 of 22) but he still wound up with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Jerry Stackhouse had a solid game off the bench with 16 points and 3 assists. Jason Terry also couldn’t shoot last night (4 of 14) and wound up with 12 points and 6 assists.

The Mavericks fell to 35-9 on the season with this loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270125004

Mavericks need more from Devin Harris

Blogged under Front Page,Need to step up,Uncategorized by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 23 January 2007 at 2:31 pm

I know that this is nitpicking because of the Mavericks record, but they need more offense from Devin Harris. In his last 6 games he has disappeared from the offense. In those 6 games he’s only averaging 7.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game and that is simply not enough despite his good defense.

The Mavericks smoked the Rockets in the second half and won 109-96 in Dallas

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps,Uncategorized by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 17 January 2007 at 1:46 pm

The Mavericks outscored the Rockets 62-43 in the second half and outrebounded them 44-32 and those were the two factors that most led to the victory last night. Dirk Nowitzki had a great game with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Josh Howard also had a very solid game with 28 points and 7 rebounds.

The Mavericks improved to 32-8 on the season with this win. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270116006
