Dominique Jones had a forgetful rookie year for the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by admin on Saturday 16 April 2011 at 2:32 am

22-year old rookie shooting guad Dominique Jones had a rough year in 2010-11.  Jones played in 18 games (0 starts) for the Mavericks this year and he averaged 6.8 minutes, 2.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.  Jones only shot 31.1% from the floor (14 of 45) this year, and that’s bad when offense is supposed to be your strong suit.  Jones’ season ended early due to a foot injury.  The Mavericks hope that Jones turns in a better effort in 2011-12.

The Dallas Mavericks lose Dominique Jones indefinitely

Blogged under Big Mavericks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Rookie Reports by admin on Wednesday 9 February 2011 at 1:04 pm

The Dallas Mavericks will be without 22-year old rookie shooting guard Dominique Jones indefinitely due to a stress fracture in his foot.  Jones played in 18 games (0 starts) for the Mavericks so far this year and he is averaging 7.5 minutes, 2.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.  He has had an awful time so far in his rookie year as he is only hitting 31.1% of his shots from the floor.  It’s never a good thing to get injured but maybe some R&R will do Jones some good.

Dominique Jones has been pretty awful this year for the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up,Rookie Reports by admin on Friday 14 January 2011 at 7:10 pm

22-year old rookie shooting guard Dominique Jones is off to a rough start to his NBA career.  He has played in 14 games (0 starts) for the Mavericks so far this year and he is averaging 7.2 minutes, 1.6 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  Jones is only shooting 28% (7 of 25 from the floor) so far this year for the Mavs.  The Mavericks would probably like to send Jones back to the D-League so he can get some legit P.T. which he’s not going to get in Dallas any time soon.

No time for rookies right now on the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by admin on Sunday 19 December 2010 at 4:37 pm

The Mavericks have their eyes on winning an NBA Title so they don’t have P.T. for rookies right now.  22-year old shooting guard Dominique Jones will just have to watch and learn as a rookie.  He has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Mavericks so far this year and he is averaging 6.2 minutes, 0.9 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists so far this year.  Most of his P.T. will come at garbage time unless the Mavs suffer some injuries ahead of him on the depth chart.

The Dallas Mavericks are taking it slow with Dominique Jones

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 8:46 pm

22-year old rookie shooting guard Dominique Jones isn’t going to get much P.T. this year for the Mavericks. Jones has played in 8 games (0 starts) for the Mavericks so far this year and he is averaging 6.0 minutes, 0.8 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. The Mavericks have a lot of guards in front of Jones on the depth chart so unless they get hit with a lot of injuries, I just don’t see him playing much this year.

Rodrigue Beaubois showed glimpses of greatness for the Dallas Mavericks as a rookie

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Thursday 15 April 2010 at 3:25 pm

22-year old shooting guard Rodrigue Beaubois showed glimpses of greatness as a rookie for the Mavericks this year. On March 27th against the Warriors (I know they never play D), Beaubois was incredible as he scored 40 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and he blocked 3 shots in only 30 minutes on the basketball court. He shot 9 of 11 from three point range in that game! But he didn’t get consistent playing time on the Mavericks who are a very veteran laden team. Overall, Beaubois played in 56 games (16 starts) for the Mavericks last season and he averaged 12.5 minutes, 7.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He also shot the lights out this season for the Mavericks hitting 51.8% from the floor, 40.9% from three point range and he hit 80.8% from the free throw line. The Mavericks would not include Beaubois in any trade at the deadline in February. He could really do some damage in the playoffs if he gets some P.T.

Rodrigue Beaubois looks like a keeper for the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Wednesday 24 February 2010 at 8:25 pm

The Dallas Mavericks were adamant that they would not include rookie point guard Rodrigue Beaubois in any trade offers last week. Beaubois has played in 35 games (13 starts) for the Mavericks this season and he is averaging 10.9 minutes, 5.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Beaubois will likely be the Mavericks’ next starting point guard after Jason Kidd hangs up the sneakers but that won’t likely be for a little while.

The Dallas Mavericks like Rodrigue Beaubois but…..

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Thursday 7 January 2010 at 9:26 am

The Mavericks really like rookie PG Rodrigue Beaubois but he is buried on the depth chart right now. He has played in 20 games (13 starts) for the Mavericks this year and he is averaging 11.9 minutes, 5.5 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Beaubois is also shooting the lights out so far this season hitting 51.1% of his shots from the floor. He will likely have a much bigger role down the road for the Mavericks but he has got to be a good sport and bide his time.

Rodrigue Beaubois could in line for some real playing time for the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Saturday 14 November 2009 at 2:57 pm

With Josh Howard out of action until likely some time in December the Mavericks could turn to rookie 21-year old guard Rodrigue Beaubois to replace him in the starting lineup. Beaubois has played in 5 games (2 starts) for the Mavericks so far this season and he is averaging 7.6 minutes, 5.4 points, 0.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. He is shooting a solid 52.6% from the floor so far this season and that has to excite the front office of the Mavericks. With Jose Juan Barea and Jason Terry coming off the bench for the Mavericks look for Beaubois to not get big time minutes even if he starts for the Mavericks while Howard is out of action. Still, it will be a good experience for Beaubois if he starts for a while for the Mavericks.

Rookie Nick Fazekas is planted on the bench for the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Rookie Reports,Uncategorized by alleyoop on Thursday 27 December 2007 at 1:16 pm

The Mavericks generally don’t use rookies much and that hasn’t changed this season. He has only played in 2 games this season for the Mavericks and he is averaging 2.5 minutes, 1.0 point and 1.0 rebound. He has only hit 1 of 2 shots from the floor this season. The Mavs likely picked Fazekas with an eye on the future.
