Lamar Odom has been pathetic so far for the Dallas Mavericks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by admin on Friday 6 January 2012 at 1:40 am

32-year old forward Lamar Odom was supposed to give the Mavericks another very solid performer along the frontcourt, but he has been horrible so far this year.  He has played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Mavericks so far this year and he is averaging 18.9 minutes, 6.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.  Odom’s shooting has been way off so far this year as he has hit 26.4% from the floor, 19% from three point range and 60% from the free throw line.  The Mavericks need Odom to get into better shape if they are going to start playing him 30 minutes per night.

The Mavericks laid another egg last night at home against the Nuggets.  The Mavericks were down 97-68 after the first three quarters as they seemed to be playing with very little emotion for the second day in a row.  They were also outrebounded 47-37 by the Nuggets as they continue to miss Tyson Chandler in the middle.  Dirk Nowitzki led the way for the Mavericks with 20 points and 4 rebounds.  Jason Kidd also had a somewhat decent game with 12 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists last night.  Sean Williams (12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot in only 11 minutes), Vince Carter (11 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Rodrigue Beaubois (10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals) also pitched in.  The Mavericks are now a very unimpressive 0-2 on the season.
