The Mavericks only shot 35% from the floor last night and it killed them.  Dirk Nowitzki led the way for the Mavericks last night with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist.  Lamar Odom only shot 4 of 12 from the floor but he still finished up with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.  Ian Mahinmi pitched in with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 1 steal in 24 minutes on the floor.  The Mavericks are now 8-6 on the year.

The Mavericks turned up the D again last night as they held the visiting Kings to 25.6% shooting from the floor.  Jason Terry (21 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists) and Vince Carter (16 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal) led the way for the Mavericks in this game.  Dirk Nowitzki (14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots) and Shawn Marion (10 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists) also pitched in for the Mavs in this game.  The Mavericks are now 8-5 on the year.

The Mavericks shot 52% from the floor and they held the Bucks to 37.2%, so it’s no surprise that they won this game rather easily.  Jason Terry (17 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 26 minutes) and Vince Carter (16 points and 2 assists in 18 minutes) led the way for the Mavericks last night.  Dirk Nowitzki (11 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists) and Shawn Marion (11 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals) also pitched in for the Mavs.  The Mavericks are now 7-5 on the year.

The Mavericks outrebounded the Celtics last night 43-35 and it helped them prevail on the road.  Jason Terry (18 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals) and Dirk Nowitzki (16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) led the way for the Mavericks in this game.  Shawn Marion also had a solid game for the Mavericks with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot last night.  Delonte West pitched in with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in this game.  The Mavericks are now 6-5 on the season.

33-year old power forward Dirk Nowitzki is off to a slow start for the Mavericks so far this year.  He has played in 9 games (all starts) for the Mavericks so far this year and he is averaging 31.3 minutes, 19.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  Nowitzki is only shooting 4 of 20 (20%) from three point range so far this year as his shot appears off.  The Mavericks need Nowitzki to get into gear, because they aren’t going to be a winning team with the way he’s playing right now.

The Mavericks had a pretty easy time with the Hornets last night.  Vince Carter (13 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal) and Ian Mahimni (13 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot) led the way for the Mavericks in this game.  Delonte West (12 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals) and Jason Terry (12 points, 4 assists and 1 steal) also had solid games for the Mavs last night.  Roddy Beaubois (11 points) and Dirk Nowitzki (10 points) also pitched in for the Mavs in this game.  The Mavericks are now 4-5 on the year.

32-year old forward Lamar Odom was supposed to give the Mavericks another very solid performer along the frontcourt, but he has been horrible so far this year.  He has played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Mavericks so far this year and he is averaging 18.9 minutes, 6.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.  Odom’s shooting has been way off so far this year as he has hit 26.4% from the floor, 19% from three point range and 60% from the free throw line.  The Mavericks need Odom to get into better shape if they are going to start playing him 30 minutes per night.

The Mavericks outrebounded the Suns 53-42 and it was a big reason for the nice home win last night.  Dirk Nowitzki (20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists) and Jason Terry (18 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists) led the way for the Mavs in this game.  Lamar Odom played his best game of the year for the Mavericks last night as he finished up with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals in only 23 minutes on the floor.  Shawn Marion pitched in with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.  The Mavericks are now 3-4 on the year.
