The Mavericks have signed G/F Gerald Green to a 1-year contract that will become official on July 9th. He’s more known as a dunk artist than a basketball player and that will need to change if he wants to get off the bench in Dallas. The 22-year old, 6′8″, 200 pound Green can handle either the shooting guard or small forward position. Green played in 30 games (0 starts) last season with the Timberwolves & Rockets and he averaged 12.1 minutes, 5.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. Green has now played in 143 games (29 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 17.6 minutes, 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. This was a nice low risk/high reward signing for the Mavericks.
