Josh Howard really playing well

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 19 December 2006 at 4:38 am

Josh Howard emerged last season as the #3 option on the offense for the Mavericks. It seems as if he might be gaining on Jason Terry for getting shots this season. Howard is averaging 17.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game so far this season. The sky is the limit for Howard as he’s increased his scoring average every season he’s been in the NBA.

Mavericks rookies sitting together on bench

Blogged under Front Page,Rookie Reports by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 13 December 2006 at 12:17 am

The Mavericks are serious championship contenders, so they don’t have many minutes for rookies. Maurice Ager was the first round pick of the Mavs, but he hasn’t got on the court very much. He has played in 13 games and has averaged 4.7 minutes, 1.7 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game so far this season.

Jose Barea has only played in 6 games and has averaged 2.4 minutes, 0.3 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists so far this season.

Pops Mensah-Bonsu has only played in one game this season. He played 2.6 minutes and grabbed 1 rebound.

The Mavericks will have to wait awhile to determine whether this was a good draft or not.
